Weedsport Transportation Supervisor Has Volleyball Team Traveling in Style

Weedsport Athletics has had quite the fall season. With its football team winning the Class C/D2 Championship, and its girls volleyball team winning sectionals for the first time in school history, there have already been a few important road trips to big games in recent weeks.
Weedsport Transportation Supervisor Amy Nemec makes sure other teams know when Weedsport is coming to town. She takes great pride in decorating buses for teams that are traveling to big games and destinations.
When the girls volleyball team travels to Massena High School on Saturday, November 15 for their Volleyball Regional Game vs Chateaugay Central School, they will arrive in a bus decked out with their names and numbers on the windows, and school colored streamers on the bus’s interior.
“I started decorating our buses 10 years ago,” Nemec said. “I enjoy seeing the athletes' faces when they read their name on the window of the bus. Especially when they walk on the bus and it is filled with streamers! The atmosphere is different when you pull into the school with your bus decorated. You can feel the energy and excitement from the kids. That's why I do it. I notice their hard work on and off the Field/ Court so it's the least I could do to show them that all the Bus Drivers are here cheering them on! Believe & Achieve Wolverines. Your effort, teamwork, and spirit make us proud — now go show everyone what Weedsport volleyball is all about!”
