The Weedsport Central School District recently welcomed Nancy Hares as its new transportation supervisor. She takes over for the retiring Carol Hawk.

Nancy will supervise about 16 people and a fleet of 19 buses. She has been a resident of Weedsport for more than 25 years and her two children graduated from the district.

She comes to Weedsport after serving as the transportation supervisor for the Moravia CSD since 2015. She started her career as a school bus driver in 1993 in Skaneateles and also worked as a regional manager for Bernie Bus for 11 years.

Nancy said she welcomed the opportunity to work in her home town.

“I’ve always loved this area and the school,” she said.

“I’ve worked my way up the ranks in this field. It’s important to make sure that the students of the WCSD are transported to and from school safely.”
