April 23 Update: Weedsport Jr.-Sr. High Event Information (NHS ceremony, Junior Prom, etc.)

We would like to provide our students and their families with some updates about our school events during these uncertain times. Please understand that these plans are tentative and dates may be subject to change. It is our desire to make sure that we recognize our hard working students and remain steadfast in our resolve to uphold the special occasions that our students are deserving of.

Weedsport Chapter National Honor Society Induction Ceremony – We will be celebrating our new inductees in a virtual format. Co-Advisors Mrs. DeFazio and Mrs. Bastian are working with NHS officers on the format for the ceremony which will be streamed on the district website tentatively May 6, 2020 at 7 p.m.
National Technical Honor Society Induction Ceremony – The Cayuga –Onondaga BOCES will celebrate new inductees on their website and other social media platforms this spring. In addition, it is anticipated a formal ceremony will be held on the BOCES campus in the fall.
Weedsport Senior Breakfast – Ms. Leonardi has been in communication with her senior students on format ideas to recognize the Class of 2020. It is anticipated in the coming weeks seniors will have the ability to drive to the campus parking lot and pick up their yearbooks and caps and gowns. The senior slideshow will take place and a recognition ceremony will be streamed on the district website in the coming weeks. Additional details on the senior pick up date and the recognition ceremony will be forthcoming.
Junior Prom – We are committed to holding this event. Once guidance is received that social gatherings of this nature are permissible, we will work with the prom venue to secure a new date and hold our Junior Prom!

Once again, we are attempting to move forward and plan these events given the circumstances with the information we have. Please now it is our commitment to maintain and uphold these occasions to the best of our ability. We appreciate your support and patience.
