The Weedsport Varsity Bowling team wrapped up a phenomenal season, showcasing exceptional teamwork and individual talent.
The boys secured a co-championship title in their league, boasting an impressive 13-2 record throughout the regular season. Their dedication shone through as they shattered two school records on January 30th against Homer. The team bowled a record-breaking high game of 998 and a record-high 3-game total of 2825.
Individually, Ethan Reitema consistently impressed. He rolled a 279 against APW, setting a new record for the highest game during a match. Reitema continued his dominance by achieving another record – the highest 3-game series with a remarkable score of 750, also against APW.
The success extended to the OHSL Tournament, with Reitema and Dan Burtless claiming victory in the league doubles tournament and the team of Jordan Guy and Carter McNabb finishing 4th.
The team’s prowess continued at sectionals, where they placed a commendable 6th out of 15 teams in Division 2. Further solidifying their achievements, they secured a 3rd place finish out of 10 teams in Class C/D.
Individually, Reitema’s exceptional bowling propelled him to a 4th place finish in the Section 3 individual shootout, while teammate Daniel Burtless secured a well-deserved 16th place finish.
“Fantastic” hardly seems enough to describe this season. The Weedsport Varsity Boy’s Bowling team displayed remarkable skill, teamwork, and dedication throughout the year. Congratulations to the players and everyone who contributed to this incredible season!
