Each month, Weedsport coaches select players they think deserve some extra recognition. Find our October Athletes of the Month below, with a message from their coaches. Congratulations to all of our athletes!
Boys Varsity Cross Country – Landon Kepple
Landon Kepple has had outstanding performances in October, outperforming runners that he did not defeat in September. Landon has been the top performer the whole season. Landon’s perseverance and his ability to respect his peers, allows him to be a prominent competitor and teammate.
Girls Varsity Cross Country – Sarah Carroll
Sarah has been a varsity cross country runner for four years. This year, she has run all summer as well as provided leadership, dedication, and enthusiasm. Sarah has excelled in the last part of the fall season, helping her team to clinch the first OHSL league tournament title in over 20 years.
Football – Parker McBride
Parker has had an amazing month of October on the field. In four games, he has completed 10/10 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown through the air. Parker has done most of his damage on the ground, rushing 53 times for 712 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The excellent month was capped off by his best performance to date, which included 4/4 passing for 51 yards and a touchdown as well as 20 carries for 232 yards and 5 rushing touchdowns. His performance led the Warriors to a 60-34 victory over Sauquoit Valley in the first round of the Sectional playoffs. Parker embodies everything that Weedsport Football is about: hard work, competitiveness, sportsmanship, and being a great teammate.
Varsity Field Hockey – Trinity Davis
Trinity has improved her leadership skills on and off the field. She is dependable and a physical force when playing hockey. She recorded 2 assists in the Sectional win at Sauquoit Valley.
