Weedsport Girls JV Field Hockey team, coached by Jeslyn Files, was recently presented with the 2023 Sportsmanship Award for Section 3 athletics.

Awarded by the New York State Field Hockey Board of Officials, this award is given to recipients that consistently display outstanding sportsmanship and dedication to fair play. Award recipients are based on nominations and voting of field hockey officials.

“We are very proud of our girls,” said Weedsport Central School District Athletic Director Robert Piascik. “Sportsmanship is pivotal to maintaining a positive culture in our athletic program, and those characteristics also resonate in school and throughout our community. It’s very exciting and humbling for our student-athletes to be recognized with this award.”
