Meals for all Weedsport students will be free through Dec. 31 after the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that schools can continue their free summer meals program. That means children in Weedsport will continue to have access to nutritious food as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic. The move was made possible by Federal funds.
In addition to free breakfast and lunch for students in attendance at Weedsport Elementary and Weedsport Jr.-Sr. High School, breakfast and lunch meals will be available to any remote learning student in the Weedsport Central School District who wants it. For those families who are presently in a remote learning arrangement, families will have to call to arrange for the food to be prepared and then pick up the food themselves at a designated time and location.
To schedule meals, please contact the school your child attends:
- Weedsport Elementary: 315-834-6685
- Weedsport Jr.-Sr. High School: (315) 834-6652
If you hear a recording, please leave your name and contact information and the information will be passed along to the appropriate person.
The District will also work with families of students who are in the hybrid school model to ensure that they receive their food for the day that they are physically not at school. In such instances, the student can pick up food as they leave at the end of the day and bring it home with them.
