SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Section III Athletic Council convened today to postpone the 2020-2021 Indoor Track and Field season. The governing body of Section III also approved the sport season dates for the remainder of the 2020 – 2021 school year. These projected dates are predicated upon additional guidance expected from Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Department of Health. Our member schools anticipate clearance and clarification on how to safely conduct indoor athletic competitions during the coronavirus pandemic. At a prior Section III Executive Committee meeting, the Executive Committee approved the cancellation all Winter and Fall II Sectional competition hosted by Section III due to current NYSDOH limitations on large group gatherings and lack of available indoor facilities.
