Students had the opportunity to learn more about science and math over the summer at a week-long STEM and robotics camp at Weedsport Elementary.
There were 25 students who signed up to participate. They got hands-on experience, completing STEM challenges with Mrs. Aylward like making water slides, creating solar ovens to cook s’mores, and engineering a catapult to launch water balloons.
Students also learned to program a robot named Edison. They coded Edison to successfully push a soccer ball into a goal and to travel a designated distance to make a delivery to Mrs. Mabbett. One of the highlights of using Edison was having him compete in Sumo Wrestling with other robots.
