Varsity Boys’ Basketball: Boys’ Basketball student-athlete of the month is Blake Friedel. Blake came into the start of tryouts in great physical condition and competed during the first few weeks of practice at a very high level. This has earned him a spot on the varsity team as a freshman. Aside from a great start to the basketball season Blake is also the top ranked student in his grade currently.
Varsity Girls’ Basketball: A member of the program since 7th grade, Lauren DeJohn has taken hold of a leadership role in her senior year. In addition to a rigorous academic schedule as part of the New Visions program, she has helped guide her teammates through an unorthodox first month of the season due to the gymnasium renovation.
Varsity Swimming & Diving: Brayden Mitchell has been a strong leader as one of the team captains. He steadily improved his times in the early season. Brayden has an impeccable attendance record, which is really important in swimming to build a base that leads to success and provide a great example of dedication to young members of the team. He is poised to have his best season yet as a senior member of the swim team.
Varsity Bowling: Boys’ bowling athlete of the month is Dan Burtless. He has been putting up some good scores and works to make his team better. He is constantly loaning balls to other team members and working through their shots with them to improve their scores.
Girls bowling: Girls’ bowling athlete is Arrow Willis. Arrow is a new member of the team and has increased their average by over 20 pins per game since starting. A lot of work has been done to fix Arrow’s hand position and the practice and work is beginning to show results.
Varsity Volleyball: Alexandria Docteur has emerged as a real leader for the volleyball team and has been selected as a team captain. She brings a positive energy to the court every day and has excelled in the middle with 28 kills and 5 blocks to start the season.
