The Weedsport Central School District Board of Education is excited to announce the selection of Mr. Gregory Stone as their next Superintendent of Schools. The formal appointment will take place at a Special Meeting of the Board of Education pending contract negotiations.

“We believe Greg possesses the experience, dedication, and innovative vision needed to lead our school district into the future; we are super excited to welcome him as our next Superintendent” stated Chad Mitchell, President of the Weedsport Board of Education. “His focus on students and his collaborative approach will empower our educators and staff to provide the best possible education for our students.   Greg’s vision and leadership will be a significant asset to Weedsport’s school community and the community at large.”

Currently serving as the Director of ELA and Elementary Education at the North Syracuse Central School District, Mr. Stone brings a wealth of experience to the role. With nine years as a classroom teacher and six years as an elementary principal, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership. Mr. Stone has held his current position since 2019.

Mr. Stone will officially assume his role in Weedsport on January 2nd, pending successful contract negotiations. The Weedsport Board of Education would like to offer a special “thank you” to Dr. Brian Hartwell, the District Superintendent and Search Consultant of Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES, for his efforts and support in facilitating such a comprehensive and successful search process.
