Weedsport Central School District celebrated a jump in year-to-year graduation rates from 2021 to 2022, according to the NYS Education Department. Weedsport is one of four districts in the Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES region to see an increased graduation rate, while five schools in the region saw year-to-year decreases.

Weedsport tied for the highest graduation rate out of the nine local public schools in the region, with 98%, alongside Port Byron. In comparison, the state average graduation rate was 87% for August 2022.

“These numbers are a testament to the hard work of our teachers and staff, and we are very proud of our students’ success,” said Superintendent Shaun O’Connor.

Weedsport’s graduation rate in 2021 was 93%.
