Congratulations to our students who have earned the distinction of being named student-athletes of the month for October:
Mason Kocur
Peyton DeMaio
Olivia Snodgrass
Dexter Barnhart
Varsity Football: Mason Kocur is the student-athlete of the month for Varsity Football. On the field, Mason has had multiple scores in each game so far this season. He leads the team in rushing and passing offense as well. Off the field, Mason is a model citizen and works diligently in the classroom. Mason is a well-rounded individual who displays the positive characteristics of a true student-athlete.
Varsity Field Hockey: Peyton is a senior co-captain for the Varsity Field Hockey team. She is the athlete of the month because of her leadership skills and contributions to the defense of our team. Peyton is very in tune and complimentary with her teammates. On the defensive end, she communicates well and seeks to improve her field hockey skills both in practice and in games.
Varsity Cross Country: Olivia kicked off the season strong, setting a course personal best of 21:42 in her first home meet of the year. She followed that up with a top 30 finish at the highly competitive VVS invitational. Olivia has been the catalyst for the team’s unity, perseverance, and optimism. Her combination of talent and work ethic have her primed for a breakout season as she sets her sights on a chance at states.
Dexter has consistently been one of the most dedicated runners for the boys’ team. He attended off-season workouts and showed great effort while balancing a job and soccer. At the VVS Invitational, Dexter shaved off nearly 2 minutes from his time the previous year at the same course. He is on track for a successful season.
