Weedsport MS/HS Bands attend NYSSMA Major Ensemble Festival

The Weedsport High School and Middle School bands showcased their musical talents at the NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) Major Ensemble Festival in Fabius Pompey on April 2.

Both ensembles delivered great performances, receiving high praise from adjudicators and valuable feedback that will help further enhance the program’s success. This is the first time a Weedsport band has attended this festival in many years.

The Weedsport bands impressed adjudicators with their technical skill, musicality, and ensemble cohesion. “I am incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and dedication leading up to this festival,” said Alex Veiga, director of the Weedsport bands. “Their commitment to excellence and growth was evident in their performance”

Participation in events like the NYSSMA Major Ensemble Festival allows students to develop discipline, teamwork, and a deep appreciation for the performing arts.
