Weedsport Jr.-Sr. High School will soon receive a high honor due to the success of its student-athletes during the 2021-22 school year. Across all seasons of play, 13 out of the 15 sports teams were named scholar-athlete teams. Teams are only given this status when at least 75% of their players have a GPA of 90 or above. The varsity sports teams that received scholar-athlete status this year are: Field Hockey, Football, Boys Cross Country, Girls Cross Country, Volleyball, Boys Swim & Dive, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Girls Bowling, Baseball, Softball, Girls Track & Field, Boys Track & Field.

Due to the high number of student-athlete teams, Weedsport will be designated a ‘School of Excellence.’ To receive this standing, at least 75% of varsity teams must qualify as scholar-athlete teams.
