On Wednesday, September 23, our sixth grade students took a field trip to Emerson Park in Auburn, NY for the annual Conservation Field Days. The event is co-sponsored by the Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District and Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County. 

According to Cayuga County Soil and Water, the objective of the event is for students “to become better acquainted with natural resources and the environment.” Students are given the opportunity to learn about our natural resources and different ways to conserve them.

Local professionals from various fields present short, 30-minute programs to give students an understanding of the particular subject matter. These programs also give students a glimpse into the many professions in the field of conservation.

Thank you to the Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District, Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County, and to Emerson Park for hosting such an informative, educational, and hands-on experience for our students.
